Daylight Saving Time Changes

As the clocks spring forward this weekend, UK car drivers will be relieved to see longer daylight hours.

This year, the clocks will go forward on Sunday, March 30, 2025, which means an extra hour of daylight in the evenings, but also a little less sleep on the night before!

More Daylight, More Road Safety

One of the biggest benefits of the clocks going forward is the increase in daylight during the evening hours. More daylight means better visibility for driving, which can help reduce the risk of accidents.  The early mornings of course will be darker for a little while until the sun rises earlier as well.

Changing Your Car’s Clocks and Settings

This might sound basic, but it’s often a pain in the neck! So bite the bullet and press those buttons. Or if you didn't adjust it in October you may be about to go back to the correct time in your car so enjoy the next 6 months of having the correct time.

If your car’s infotainment system has an automatic time update feature, it should take care of this for you, but may be worth double-checking.

Schedule Your Vehicle’s Maintenance

With longer daylight hours, now might be the perfect time to schedule that much-needed car maintenance. As we head into the warmer months, ensure your vehicle is in tip-top shape for road trips, summer drives, or just your daily commute. Regular checks on the brakes, tyres, and lights can help you stay safe and avoid any unexpected breakdowns.

If you’re unsure about any specific maintenance needs, feel free to contact us, Morley Auto Services in Redhill, for a thorough check-up.
