'Back to the Future Day' was first celebrated on October 21st 2011. October 21st 2015 is the day that Marty McFly, Doc and Jennifer head off to at the end of the first movie in the franchise.

By 2015 Michael J Fox was suffering from Parkinson's Disease and the proceeds from the day's official events went to his charitable foundation.
